Job Description

New Song Academy is currently seeking a full time fine arts teacher for the 2023 - 24 school year. This position is focused on giving our students in all grade levels exposure to, and practice with, music or art.

New Song Academy is a small public charter school located in the historic Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood and has over 30 years working with students and families in this community. We offer small class sizes (between 18 and 22), a supportive environment, and an engaged community.

Essential DuTies & Responsibilities

1) Plan and implement lesson plans for all grade levels (Pre-k - 8)
2) Work collaboratively with other teachers to integrate art/music lessons with other subject areas
3) Attend and participate in professional development
4) Work within the committee structure of the school to support school operations
5) Develop strong connections with students, families, and the community that support student learning

Qualifications

Maryland State Certification

Experience Required

We prefer experience working in City Schools
