Webinar– Establishing Sound Mission Based Performance Measures

What: EXCEL has engaged two established researchers/ academicians (Rona M. Frederick, PhD and T'Pring R. Westbrook, PhD) to help EXCEL operationalize its four pillars in order to identify solid outcomes and develop sound evaluation practices. There is evidence that establishing sound mission based performance measures is a shortcoming of charter schools across the nation. This is a promising practice to share with other charter schools.

Progressive Ed Summit
$1000 Stipend Recipient
What: The Progressive Education Summit brings together hundreds of educators from around the region and country to share best practices, work with great educational thinkers and practitioners, connect with other educators, and work to bring alive the child -centered, democratic ideals of progressive education.
Where: City Neighbors High School, 5609 Sefton Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21214
Who: Teachers - including Educators and the Learning Community in Public Schools, Independent Schools, Parochial Schools, Universities, Early Learning Centers and throughout.
Charter School Principal Learning Community
$1000 Stipend Recipient
What: All principals in Baltimore City of non-charter schools attend a monthly learning meeting. We believe that charter school principals also deserve monthly professional learning communities to discuss best practices and informal/formal observations. This learning community is open to Baltimore area Principals and each month the location will rotate to a different public charter school.
When: Monthly on a Wednesday– from 9am –2pm
