Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position organizes and executes the School’s accounting, budgeting, payroll, risk management, and other fiscal functions. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Executive Director with conducting fundraising activities and managing the Board of Directors. Hours: Approximately 8:00 - 4:00 pm but flexible with option for a limited hybrid schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and organize accounting, budgeting, and other fiscal functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and relevant laws and policies, including the following:
Maintain records of income and expenditures
Pay billsManage payroll and maintain leave records for employees
Support the Executive Director in developing the annual budget
Direct year end closing process and preparation of year-end statements
Participate in the annual financial audit
Assist with fundraising activities, including the Annual Fund and grants management
Support the Board of Directors with meeting planning and requests for information
Assist the Executive Director with scheduling, communication and other clerical tasks
Salary
Based upon experience and the Baltimore City Public Schools salary scale. $19.80 - $35.17 per hour.

Qualifications
Seeking a Candidate With:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and practices for the preparation of financial statements, budgeting and reporting
Understanding of procedures for processing payroll and leave
Proficiency in MS Office, the Google Suite, Zoom, Meet and accounting software
A high school diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
2-3 years experience in financial management
Required Valid MD Drivers license

Organizational, planning, and time management skills
Communication skills, including the ability to maintain diplomacy and professionalism
Minimum Education Level
A high school diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
