About Us

What makes us unique

Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter (CSP), in partnership with students, parent, and the community, provides a rigorous and quality education for middle and high school students with a special focus on science, math, and technology. By incorporating math and technology in the classroom and encouraging students to participate in an informational society, CSP students have the skills and experience to advance and excel in higher education and the workforce.

Community

Chesapeake Science Point (CSP), as with all Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation (CLF) schools, participates in the Professional Development offered by both its County Partners and CLF. During the Summer, our IT staff participates in CLF's extensive PD. For community engagement, CSP Students excel at civic clubs and extracurriculars that engage their local and regional communities. For example, the "Harvest for the Hungry" Food Drive and "Poetry Pumpkin Night" draw many supporters. Participation in the County STEM Fairs, MathCOUNTS, and HS Math Competitions are a part of the school culture. In addition, CSP and CLF foster community engagement with our sister academies and the wider MD community by hosting annual STEAM and Civic events that include, but are not limited to: CLF MakerFEST, CLF CultureFEST, Sumobot Tournament, Black History Month Essay & Poster Contest, etc. Further, we partner with MD STEM Festival and participate in the Pi-Day in Annapolis, the AASHTO TRAC Bridge Builder, CLF Enrichment Services, and the CLF Advanced Studies Programs (vary year to year). Mission and Vision

The Vision of CSP is to foster collaboration among students, parents, educators, and the community in order to provide an educational environment sustained by a nurturing, disciplined, and dynamic learning culture. CSP is committed to ensuring learning experiences that will assist our students in achieving their maximum potential, allowing them to excel in an increasingly technological, interconnected and global society.

Programs

  • After School Programs (Believing that the school is an extension of students’ homes and CSP offers about 13 Middle school and 14 High school after school clubs so that students stay at school and can be comfortable at school.)

  • We offer a variety of STEM and non-STEM based clubs for students to be able to apply their learning outside of the classroom. We have STEM and non-STEM based clubs that participate in competitions at the county, state and national level.
